AADI PERUKKU

The Tamil Month ‘Aadi’, is the beginning of monsoon in Tamil Nadu. During this month, water levels in the rivers increase due to rainfall. Rain helps plants and produce grow. This festival is to honor Mother Nature and its rivers especially. This day our ancestors and elders who have passed away are also worshipped on the river bed.

KARTHIGAI DEEPAM

Once upon a time, Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu had an ego clash with each other on Who the greatest god was. Both of them claimed to be the greatest. At that time God Shiva appeared in the form of fire and told them whoever finds the top or bottom of a pillar is the greatest. Brahma took the form of a bird and tried to find the top of the pillar. Vishnu took the form of a giant boar and dug deep to see the bottom of the pillar.
